Let's Join Together
Canadians for Moral Clarity and the Canadian Prayer Network are inviting local churches across Canada to a National Prayer Initiative called Raising the Standard on January 6th and 7th.
The purpose of the National Initiative is to pray for the raising up of righteous leadership in our government according to Daniel 2:21, 22.
In November 2004 at an Impact Cities-Influence Nations Conference in Montreal, Dr. Cindy Jacobs called national leaders to pray for our government according to Isaiah 22:22 and Daniel 2:21, 22. The next day, after praying that God would expose the “hidden works of darkness”, a leader was removed from the Prime Minister’s cabinet. The following year the scandal in Quebec was brought to light.
In January 2006 before the last national election, 60 different locations from Halifax to Vancouver Island joined together to pray for “righteous government”. Believers gathered in local churches and inter-church prayer rallies across the nation from sea to sea. During this intensified 24-hour prayer initiative the polls suddenly changed in Quebec and resulted in a minority government. Today, we believe there are more righteous leaders in government on Parliament Hill because God answered our prayer!
As local churches we must now begin to pray for our nation as we expect to face another election in 2008.
We need you!
Your participation in this prayer initiative is greatly needed to help shape the future of Canada and we look forward to your reply!

Political Action Ideas
- Investigate/research the different Political Parties – ask for information on party policy and position on various issues that are important to you (moral, democratic, fiscal, etc).
- Become a member of a political party – buy a party membership and double your political influence. Attend constituency meetings and vote on party policy.
- Work on a nomination campaign – if you are a member of a political party, you can vote in the party’s nomination race. Vote in the internal election to decide who will become that party’s candidate.
- VOTE! After educating yourself, vote in every election. Vote for the candidate who
represents the decisions of the constituents and who will support your position.
Contact Representatives
- Petitions – this is an effective way of generating public and media debate on major issues.
- Letters/emails – send a straightforward, one page letter that honours your Representative. Ask where your Representative stands with respect to a specific issue, ask them to represent your position, and request a reply.
- Direct face-to-face contact – arrange for a meeting. Share your position with your representative, showing honour, and being respectful of his or her time.
- Telephone calls – phone your Representative to share your position on specific issues.
During a Campaign
- Volunteer
- Distribute flyers
